You serenade her and when she lets you in, you're all good, man. It was also one way to coax your girlfriend when you had a fight. He may be with a friend that plays the guitar or a minus one on speakers. That's kind of like the "golden buzzer" in courtship, way back. The suitor sings by the window of the girl he likes and when she looks out and hears him sing and after was invited inside the house, then that's a big deal already. We have this tradition in courtship called "Harana" (Serenade) wherein the guy serenades the girl to express his love to her. Ooh! I just realized! maybe that's when it all started! We already hear music even when we are still babies. While cooking, cleaning, bathing, when we're happy and sometimes, even when we're just bored. But seriously though, we love singing and do it randomly every day. We don't only love singing in karaoke but we sing in almost everything we do. It may sound absurd but that's the first thing that came to my mind. The first reason I can think of? It's just that we love singing! We are born singers, doesn't matter if we are good or not at singing.
SING ALONG KARAOKE PHILIPPINES PROFESSIONAL
Many vloggers on youtube that react to Filipino artists even say that the Philippines is a home of amazing singers, be it professional or not. The karaoke machine was invented by Filipino inventor Roberto del Rosario in 1975 and it was called Sing-Along System. But for parties celebrated in the comforts of our homes, we'll have karaoke to sum up the fun. I mean not all kinds of parties of course. If we can, we will have karaoke at parties. After all, in a country where there’s a lot to be depressed about, the one thing you should never lose is your sense of humor. What is a party without karaoke? That's how many of us are during celebrations. You might need it.īasically, our love of karaoke can be traced to a love of music, a love of fun and a love of life all in all. If you’re a foreigner invited to a predominantly Filipino party, I would advice preparing a song or two. In the Philippines, you could actually be executed for having a poor singing voice. But that’s a bit extreme. We can’t all be Sharon Cunetas, Sarah Geronimos and Christian Bautistas.

Inevitably, as the night winds down, someone hogs the mic and in turn belts out their version of “Please Release Me”, “Dancing Queen”. Usually, the brave ones go first and the more timid ones try to pass the mic to others. Also, the microphone is never left all alone. Karaoke or Sing-along is always present at big events such as birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas parties and even New Year’s. Wherever they are, they are never afraid to belt out albeit sometimes out-of-tune renditions of popular songs. So, on to the third point, Filipinos do love karaoke. (how ever did they live?) This kinda reminds me of the Apple vs Samsung patent case but that’s a story for another day.
